From Joe's step-children in Canada and America.

The last 8 years or their life together were hard for Joe having to deal with dementia slowly taking the mind of his wife. But Joe fully kept his marriage vows, in sickness and health, This lovely man would not put mum in a nursing home even in the tough times, he loved her, looked after her nearly to the end..Only when his own health forced him to allow her to finnish her days in a nursing home, did he concede.
We will always be so grateful and proud of you Joe. Thank you for your love and caring.
There were so many happy and funny times having Joe in our life, to many to put down here,
We miss you Joe and will always love you.
I wish to end with this beautiful little prayer our mum would say to us at bed time. I like to think she continued saying it to Joe.
Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake . I pray the Lord my soul to take.
Goodbye Joe.. Kathy, Sue, Andrew and families
